Microtimber – Development of a 3D-printed, gradient timber panel composed of forestry waste- and by-product

This presentation reports on the progress of  the active FWPA project  Microtimber – Development of a 3D-printed, gradient timber panel composed of forestry waste and by-products (PNA359-1516).

The project aim is to develop both the semi-green material and the 3-D printing technology for panels and will demonstrate the technologies through a strong and highly marketable prototype at production-scale. It will seek to utilise forestry waste as feedstock  in this process. 3-D-printing technology may have significant implications for future  timber and construction industries.

The webinar highlights progress to date, advances in the field of 3-D printing technologies and the key points being investigated for the remainder of the project.

Presenter: Sandra Löschke is Senior Lecturer and Director of Architecture Design and Technology at the University of Sydney.
