Can Timber Commercial Buildings be as Cost Effective as Traditional Designs?

A recently completed research investigated the cost of timber building versus traditional design for 4 building types, industrial building, 2 storey aged care, 7 storey office and 8 storey apartment building. There was some surprising results.

This webinar will be presented by Andrew Dunn, Chief Executive for the Timber Development Association. Andrew almost 30 years’ experience in the building industry, with the last 25 years within the timber sector. He has a Civil/Structural Engineering degree from the University of Sydney and a Masters of Timber Engineering from Central Queensland University. 

Mr Dunn represents the industry on numerous Australian Standards being Timber Framing, Bushfire, Termites control, Design loads, Plasterboard installation and Earth Retaining Structures. He has extensive knowledge in fire and sound timber framed technology as well as more recently involved in the introduction of cross laminated timber and post stressed timber systems.
